In recovery and living with HIV? Looking for aftercare support?

Positive Perspectives is an HIV aftercare support group that provides an opportunity for HIV-positive individuals to talk about HIV and how it affects (or is affected by) chemical health, addiction and recovery.

Who goes to Positive Perspectives?

Positive Perspectives :: An HIV Aftercare Support GroupAn individual interested in this group must be HIV-positive. You must also be in recovery from addiction, whether chemical or sexual.

The majority of current group members have participated in some form of in-patient or out-patient chemical dependency treatment programming. However, it is not a requirement. We just ask that you make a commitment to maintaining your sobreity before and during group meetings.

Currently, our group consists primarily of HIV-positive men who identify as either gay or bisexual. All are welcome!

What do we talk about at an HIV aftercare group?

Individuals talk about a number of different issues in group, both from the perspective of someone in recovery as well as someone living with HIV. Popular topics include (but are not limited to):

When do we meet?

Every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month from 4:30pm - 6pm. Light refreshments are provided. Some group members participate in IOP or other groups immediately afterwards, so we are happy to accomodate an early departure from group.

For more information or if you are interested in participating in future groups, please call us at 612-348-3307 or email CAPS staff. We will conduct a brief intake and discuss group confidentiality before disclosing the exact location of the next meeting. Group participation is free of charge.
